Le Vigne’s Paso Robles roots go back to the early 1960s when Sylvia Filippini’s father, Sylvester Feichtinger purchased Rancho Roble, which produced hay and cattle. In the late 1970s, Sylvester saw the potential in Paso Robles as a world-class wine-producing region. In 1982 he planted his first vines which consisted of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Sylvester released its first estate bottled wines in 1989 and built a state-of-the-art facility, with the capability of producing up to 50,000 cases a year, in 1995.
In 1996 Sylvia and her husband Walter took over the operations. Walter grew up in Como, Italy, and immigrated to the United States in 1981, shortly after winning Italy’s National Chef’s competition for his delectable display of pheasant pate. In New York, he worked with famed Italian-American film producer Dino de Laurentiis at his FDL Food Shows’, an Italian specialty food store and restaurant. In 1986, Walter moved to Beverly Hills to run the new location. 
In 2010 Walter and Sylvia purchased an 86 acres parcel that is now known as our Acquarello Vineyard. This vineyard is five miles East of the winery. In 2013, they decided to change the winery’s name to Le Vigne, “The Vineyard” in Italian. Walter’s family had previously owned vineyards in Valentina; so, he utilized this knowledge, along with perfection to detail in cooking, to revamp the winery. It entailed planting and replanting the vineyards and the hiring of Terry Culton as head winemaker in 2019. 
Le Vigne currently consists of 113 acres planted at our two Estate Vineyards in the Estrella District AVA. The Domenico North and South vineyards are comprised of 81 acres. North Domenico has 11 different varietals planted consisting of larger blocks of Bordeaux varietals and smaller planting of varietals like Viognier and Corvina. South Domenico has 12 different varietals planted with larger blocks of Bordeaux and Rhone varietals and small blocks of Primitivo and Nero d’ Avola. Acquarello Vineyard has 32 acres planted of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Merlot. Our vineyards are predominantly planted East to West, 10’ x 6’ rows, and sustainably farmed.

On the nose hints of black currant and blueberry lead into
cedar, cardamom, and turmeric aromas. A full-bodied
mouthfeel that has rich fruit notes of fresh black cherry
and plum that finish with pistachio and baking spice

Classic Petite Sirah with lush tannins that linger on the
palate with rich cassis and sasparilla notes.


Sangiovese Blend

Bright cranberry and earthy sage combine on the nose to
offer a fruity yet savory bouquet. The intriguing
secondary notes of cedar, dried cherry and crushed
spearmint leaf beckon a sip filled with tart cranberry,
orange pith and well-integrated oak. Toasted almond
stands out on the finish with an easy-drinking and foodfriendly acidity.


The nose presents aromas of bright cherry and
cranberry with an essence of vanilla and subtle nuance
of violet. Notes of ripening strawberry and fresh cherry
are enhanced by bright acid and fruit on the front of the
pallet which leads into well-structured tannins on the
finish with a hint of caramel.


Beginning notes of blueberry lead to aromas of tobacco
leaf, chocolate, and cherry cola. Hints of blackberry and
blueberry open up to distinct notes of saddle leather and
cedar. Progressive tannins culminate in a refreshing
acidity that revitalizes the pallet.


Red Blend

Fruity, spicy, flavorful and complex: these words can be
used to describe each vintage of Ame de la Vigne, and
this 2019 blend continues the trend. On the nose,
complementary layers of dark cherry, black plum and
cognac emerge. The powerful yet pleasantly smooth
palate boasts currant, raspberry, baking spices and
vanilla with a long-lasting toasted oak finish.
