Winemaker Matt Trevisan swore he would never make a white wine. Contrary to that, the summer heat of Paso Robles begged him for a refreshing wine to consume during the day. Our white blend was born in 2002 and from there evolved to an interesting blend utilizing Estate grenache blanc and picpoul blanc.
Grenache forward every year, this wine looks to highlight a varietal that is an integral part of our blending house. Feminine in nature, each year this blend sees some of our best barrels of Grenache and is balanced by Syrah and Mourvèdre.
Linne Calodo has only produced the Martyr a few times in its history. This is a wine that celebrates one of the most important blending grapes we work with: Mourvèdre. While Grenache, Syrah, and Zinfandel bring fruit and acidity into our wines, Mourvèdre is the sultry, savory undertow. Essential to our balance, but once every few years too full and expressive to be martyred off.
The pale soft pink of the rising sun is captured in this first taste of the 2021 vintage, our Pale Flowers. This rosé of Grenache is crisp and bright from the moment it touches your tongue through the longer lingering finish.
The name is an homage to the first barrels of this blend. A zinfandel blend that did nothing but cause problems, demanding nights of extra attention complete with warm blankets and musical serenades. Referred to as the “Problem Child,” those two barrels turned themselves around and were the beginnings of one of our most celebrated wines.
A cellar-born blend that plays with whole cluster and varietal co-fermentations, the Perfectionist is vinified and aged in concrete with no oak influence on the wine.
