Beautiful color, aromas, and flavors that linger longer from grapes farmed with great care and over 40 years of experience by Michael Michaud in the legendary Chalone AVA of Monterey County.

Combines beautiful minerality and acidity with wonderful notes of tropical and stone fruits for a crisp and refreshing wine. Versatile and food-friendly, it can stand up to the spiciest dishes as well as complement all types of seafood and poultry meals, or just enjoy it chilled on a warm day.

This stunning 100% Syrah comes from ultra-rare Hermitage-clones grown in the Michaud Vineyard in the legendary Chalone AVA. The cuttings were a gift to vineyard owner Michael Michaud by the head of a 16th-generation winemaking family from the Hermitage A.O.C. in the Northern Rhone. This rich and complex wine combines the best characteristics of both cool- and warm-climate Syrah. A gorgeous hue of blood red ruby, it has aromas of red delicious apple skins, star anise, roses, petrichor, and tobacco. In the mouth, it greets you with tart Bing cherry, boysenberry, smoked cedar plank, figs, cocoa caramel, and an earthy minerality reflecting the limestone and granite soils of the vineyard, with a long lingering finish. Already drinking nicely in its youth, but built to last. Pairs well with lamb, Osso Bucco, lasagna, pizza, and duck in cherry sauce.

Aa beautiful hue of transparent fiery garnet, with cranberry sauce, strawberry, and thyme on the nose, leading to flavors of a cherry tart, with spice notes and a creamy marshmallow texture that ends with lingering soft tannins. Refreshing, easy-drinking, yet still complex – it’s the perfect wine for any occasion or no occasion at all - the perfect Spring and Summer red that can even be served slightly chilled.
