Palate
The 2014 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is blue fruit-driven and high-toned with savory qualities of baking chocolate and rooibos tea. Subtle tones of lavender and pencil shavings come across the palate, along with an elegant structure and bright acidity.
Growing Conditions
The Alexander Valley runs southeast to northwest alongside the Mayacamas and is one of the warmest AVAs in Sonoma County. We source fruit from the southern part of the AVA, where early morning fog and slightly lower daytime high temperatures offer a balanced climate for ripening Cabernet. The soils range from alluvial at lower elevations to rocky loam on the more rugged slopes. The combination of these factors brings out nuanced aromatics and firmly structured tannins.
