Nose

Our 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is intense with aromas of dark cherry and red plum.

Palate

Notes of violet and blueberry jam come through on the mid-palate along with nuanced spice and licorice. The concentrated mouthfeel and soft tannins are a testament to this great vintage, coating the palate with a lingering red fruit finish.

Growing Conditions

The core of our 2012 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the Sonoma Valley AVA. To generate more complexity, we harvest fruit from a handful of low-yielding, rocky sites that offer diverse exposures. The cooler, east-facing vineyards bring balance and elegance to the wine while the warmer, west-facing parcels deliver riper aromatics and broader tannins. We also included fruit from Knights Valley (5%) and Alexander Valley (5%) to deepen the bouquet and round out the palate.

Winemaking

Fermented in stainless steel, 100% Malolactic.

Aging

Aged for 24 months in 84% French oak (20% new) and 16% American oak (6% new).
