The Tempranillo-dominated cuvée is finished off with a splash of either Grenache, Mourvedre, or Syrah depending on the vintage. Sympatico is Caliza's take on a typical Rioja blend.
The Caliza Grenache is a single-varietal representation from the Willow Creek District of Paso Robles. Aged for 18 months in neutral and once-used French oak barrels, this Grenache is a fresh, fruit driven wine perfect for summertime and Fall dinners.
Cohort is a Petite-Sirah dominant blend from our Caliza vineyard in the Willow Creek District of Paso Robles. It's often a blend with small components of Grenache, Syrah, or Mourvèdre and is always aged for 18 months in barrel and 2 years in bottle before it's release.
Caliza's signature white wine, Kissin' Cousins is a white Rhone blend. Typically containing Viognier, Grenache Blanc, and Roussanne; we often switch the varieties and percentages up to make a crisp, refreshing white!
Primitivo is the Italian clone of Zinfandel which grows wonderfully in the heat of Paso Robles. The Caliza Primitivo is typically a blend of 80-90% Primitivo and 10-20% Petite Sirah for color, depth, and body.
Deep, dark color reflects a nose filled with black and blue fruits, bacon fat, and black olive tapenade. Your palate gets coated with rich, blueberry cobbler, peppered meats, and a chalky minerality. Full bodied, round, and lush the ripe tannins lead to a great finish with beauty and power. Enjoy this with brisket, bbq ribs, or even kahlua pork.
