COME TASTE. UNWIND. APPRECIATE LIFE. It’s easy to do when you’re at Autry Cellars. There is no glitzy tasting room, no expansive wrap-around wine bar made for hoards of shuttle bussed patrons. It’s just us, paying attention to you, in a comfortable and unassuming tasting room focused on the joys of wine appreciation. More often than not, it’s Steve Autry pouring at the tasting table, sharing the nuances of his award-winning wines and the story of their creation. It’s a sensory journey, an afternoon respite, and an education all in one.

Female owned and operated, J Dusi Wines is guided by its head winemaker and owner Janell Dusi. Janell was born and raised on the Dusi Vineyard where her grandfather Dante taught her the old world Italian style of winemaking. The Dusi family’s heritage and history in Paso Robles Wine Country dates back to the early 1920’s, where grape growing has been a craft that has deep roots in the Dusi family. The sustainable farming practices that were implemented by Janell’s great-grandparents ninety years ago are still the standard that we follow today. The unique, hand crafted quality of J Dusi Wines results from Janell’s intimate involvement in every step of the process: working in the vineyard, driving the tractor, hand picking her own fruit, crushing the grapes and fermenting the juice from the bins to the barrels to the bottle. One thing Janell knows for sure; winemaking is part science, part art and 100% passion. Janell takes great pride in blending tradition with progress. The Dusi family grows wine grape varietals including: Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Clairiette Blanche. Along with the Classic Zinfandel, Carignane, and Petite Sirah with an adventurous spirit, Janell is able to produce more hand crafted wines to highlight her “spice rack” in the cellar. The Dusi Family’s true passion is Zinfandel. Janell Dusi is a farmer and she is a winemaker. She continues a legacy and also the dream: A family tradition with a new perspective.

While our Villa Creek wines represent a few different places, MAHA represents one; the place that we raised our kids, built our winery and planted our vineyard. When we first laid eyes on this estate in 2003, we knew it was destined for greatness. Our best barrels from MAHA Estate grapes are reserved for the MAHA branded wines. The 60 acres of land that bears remarkable resemblance to some of the great estates of the Rhône Valley in France and the stunning hills of Priorat in Spain. We moved on to the property, built a small winery and spent the next 9 years preparing the land for planting. Over 2012 and 2013, 13 acres of vines were planted, bringing the MAHA Estate to life. Located 14 miles from the Pacific ocean with elevations from 1500 to 1800 feet, south facing slopes of Calcareous and Siliceous soils provide the perfect environment for growing grapes of character and complexity. We have farmed the MAHA organically and Biodynamically from day one and received CCOF organic and Demeter BIODYNAMIC® certifications in 2015. Our philosophy is that farming without the use of herbicides and pesticides, using only organic matter to build soil nutrition and energy makes the best wine with the truest expression of its place of origin. The MAHA estate brand came to fruition in 2019. 2024 marks the sixth release of the wines which continues to receive high praise from wine writers around the globe. In 2022 we became the 6th winery globally to receive Regenerative Organic Certification (ROC) which focuses on building soil health through no till agriculture, carbon sequestration, respecting animal welfare, and improving the lives of everyone who works on the farm. We look forward to sharing our life's work with you. JoAnn & Cris Cherry
Mitchella is a small family-owned estate vineyard and winery located on the eastside of Paso Robles along the HuerHuero Creek. We are committed to making small lots of premium handcrafted wines, and believe it starts by attentively cultivating quality wine in the vineyard. Our wines are only available at the winery or in select wine bars, shops, and restaurants. In the eighties, after consuming a fair amount of White Zinfandel (Twin Hills, Mastantuano, etc), Angela and Darren Mitchell were converted by a bottle of 1987 Eberle Cabernet Sauvignon and their passionate quest for fine red wine began. In 1993, Darren frustrated by the high cost of their new hobby, decided to take a winemaking class taught by local Zinfandel legend, Charles Poalillo, at Cuesta Community College. What began as an attempt to save money, developed into a quest for more knowledge of wine and production, more classes (at UC Davis, Allan Hancock, Aspen School of Wine, Copia, and Cal Poly), investments in equipment and supplies, and finally, the shift back to Darren’s farming roots, a vineyard of their own. Four years later, in 1997, wanting more control over the quality of grapes, the couple planted the first grapes: 10 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and 10 acres of Syrah on the hilltop overlooking the old adobe farmhouse where Darren grew up. They also decided, if they were going to give the grapes the attention they deserved, they would have to move onto the property. What was supposed to be a temporary two year stint, turned into a nearly nine year adventure that finally came to fruition with the building of the home and tasting room which you see today. Since then, their passionate endeavor has consisted of updating, cultivating, and nurturing the vineyard, producing small lots of fine truly-handcrafted wines and enjoying the fruits of their labor with friends, family, and customers.

Equally owned and run by the two families, the partnership begun in 1987 remains today as ever, even as the next generation of Haases and Perrins have stepped into leadership roles over recent decades.
