Nose
This Pinot Noir opens with intense aromas of black cherry and blackberry with undertones of cedar and spice.
Palate
The mouth is greeted with the same lush dark berry fruit with more earth and spice supported by moderate toasty oak. This wine has a substantial mouthfeel that continues on to a long, spice finish.
Growing Conditions
The block is situated facing east. It receives the cool morning sun while being spared the hot afternoon sun exposure (it is protected by the hill to the west). The ideal climate/exposure for Pinot noir is cool air with lots of sun, and this particular clone 115 is situated in the most ideal of conditions.
Aging
Aged in 100% French Oak with 40% New Oak.
Food Pairing
This earthy and brambly Pinot Noir pairs great alongside pan-seared duck breast, roasted quail or grilled lamb. Try with soft or hard cheeses and a fig compote.
