When Hansjörg Wyss bought this historic property, he named it in honor of his mother, Alice Halter. With this reserve blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Tannat, we are honoring her once again with the name Cuvée Alice.
Although typically used as a blending component at Halter Ranch, we produce a limited quantity of a single varietal Tannat for our Silver Label Club.
Although it is traditionally used in small amounts for blending, we have had an exceptional vineyard block of Petit Verdot that has produced a limited quantity of wine worthy of being bottled on its own. Petit Verdot is known for its color, structure, and tannins, and this wine lives up to these attributes.
The 2018 Libelle is a very unique offering as it is a sparkling wine made from 100% Picpoul Blanc grapes. The wine is vinified in the Methode Champenoise, where the secondary fermentation occurs in bottle to create natural carbonation. Aromas of Meyer lemon, citrus, and a touch of toasted almond jump from the glass. The palate is bright in acidity, complemented by flavors of crushed pineapple, mandarin orange, and a zesty lemon.
The 2021 Grenache Blanc features aromas of white peach, stone fruit, and white flowers.

The 2019 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon features aromas of black cherry, red currant, cassis, and a touch of pencil lead. The palate is soft and rich, exuding flavors of raspberry, blueberry, and a hint of cocoa. Lengthy, integrated tannins lead to a seamless finish.
The Rosé features beautiful aromas of wild strawberry and olallieberry with a touch of citrus. The entry is clean and crisp with flavors of ripe watermelon, raspberry, and a hint of ripe cherry.
The 2021 Carignan features aromas of raspberry, bramble fruits, and a trace amount of baking spices. The entry is smooth, with flavors of pomegranate, Bing cherry, and a touch of plum.

Tempranillo is a varietal indigenous to Spain. The 2020 Reserve Tempranillo has a dark purple hue, violet color, with bright red edges.
The 2022 Vermentino presents aromas of white peach, citrus, and Anjou pear. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the attack, followed by flavors of nectarine and melon. A balanced palate leads to a clean finish with subtle hints of salinity, true to Vermentino’s varietal identity.

This reserve offering has become an icon within our Silver Label program. The unique process of barrel fermentation creates a velvety and rich mouthfeel that beautifully combines the tannins and flavors of the Alban clone Syrah from Block 22 and the French oak barrels that it is fermented in.
