Nose

Aromas of raspberry jam and molasses join spicy white pepper, vanilla and licorice notes.

Palate

This Zinfandel has a rich body with exceptionally well-balanced tannins, leading to a long excellent finish.

Growing Conditions

House Vineyard is located on the northern edge of Sonoma County just west of the small town of Cloverdale. The steeply-sloped vineyard has a southwestern aspect and rocky well-drained soil. These rugged conditions stress the vines giving the fruit concentrated flavor and color. Although we have only been receiving fruit from our House vineyard for five years, it has quickly become one of our favorite Zinfandel ranches given the high quality fruit and distinctive flavors.

Bottling

Bottled September 2016.

Winemaking

Harvested by hand on September 11th, after destemming and crushing, the fruit was fermented on the skins for two weeks before pressing. After settling in stainless steel tanks for six weeks the wine was then racked into European and American oak for 18 months. After barrel aging was complete, the highest quality wines were separated from the lot and assembled to be bottled as our Single Vineyard House Zinfandel.

Aging

European and American oak for 18 months.

Food Pairing
