Nose
Fruity aromas of fig and dragon-fruit are layered upon complex spicy notes of nutmeg, sage and sweet vanilla oak.
Palate
Our Six Ridges Merlot is a rich and powerful wine with complex structure, ripe tannins, and a long, excellent finish.
Growing Conditions
The rocky and well-drained soil of the Dry Creek Valley produces wines with densely-concentrated character and rich flavor. The 2013 vintage had a long and dry growing season with mild temperatures making for nearly perfect conditions for producing superior wines.
Bottling
Bottled September 2015.
Winemaking
Picking began the last week of September when the grapes had reached their peak of flavor. The fruit was then crushed and destemmed before fermenting on the skins for three weeks. The young wine was pressed and settled before transfer into French and American oak barrels for 20 months. After aging was complete, only our best barrels of Dry Creek Merlot were selected and blended for bottling.
Aging
20 months in French and American oak.
Food Pairing
Our 2013 Six Ridges Merlot has the opulent mouthfeel and depth of flavor to pair with the heartiest of foods such as sharply flavored cheese, prime rib and creamy pastas.
