Growing Conditions
The Russian River carves a gap in the rugged coastal mountains of Sonoma County, building a route for cooling afternoon breezes and morning fog that creates the unique terroir of the Russian River Valley. The mild growing conditions are ideal for producing rich and full-flavored Pinot Noir. The vintage of 2015 began with mild growing conditions that favored wine growth throughout the spring. A warm spell in early September allowed the fruit to fully develop giving the wine an intense fruity character
Bottling
Bottled November 2016.
Winemaking
The grapes were handpicked and brought to the winery for destemming into stainless steel tanks and fermentation on the skins. After three weeks, the young wine was gently pressed off the skins before it aged in small European oak barrels for 13 months.
Aging
13 months in European oak.
Food Pairing
Pinot Noir is one of the most versatile wines to pair with food. The fruity aromas
and moderate tannins allow it to pair with a range of foods from roasted pork with
herbs and fennel, coq au vin or an array of mild cheeses.
