Nose

A rich, focused gold core with aromas of Thai basil, white pepper, orange flower water, Satsuma orange, popover and lemon zest.

Palate

This full - bodied chardonnay features ripe pear, golden delicious apple, and lemongrass on the palate with balanced acidity focused on kiwi and lime zest. The finish is long, rich and supple, reminiscent of fresh burrata and cream.

Growing Conditions

The Santa Maria Valley’s proximity to the Pacific Ocean makes it one of California’s premiere growing regions, especially for chardonnay. Cool temperatures in this region throughout the growing season ensure that the grapes develop great flavors and retain their natural acidity at maturity.

Winemaking

Hand-harvested and sorted on the 30th of September, the grapes were whole cluster pressed to gently extract the juice while preventing bruising and damage. The juice was then transferred to 100% French oak (30% new) where spontaneous fermentation began utilizing native yeasts. The wine went through full malolactic fermentation

Aging

Aged sur-lie for 15 months; battonage (stirring of the lees) was employed every 2 weeks to ensure its spectacular mouth feel and structure.

Appearance

A rich, focused gold core.
