Clouds drift in the pastel blue sky White strawberries ripen in the sun’s brilliance Chamomile blooms, mint creeps and tarragon grows Sea salt permeates the coastal air Lime & nectarine trees blossom & begin to bear fruit Springtime has finally arrived.
The meadow is surrounded by trees imbued with nectarines, chamomile growing wildly at their roots. Scents of lime zest and himalayan pink salt hang in the still air and all is quiet except for birdsong in the distance. You lounge in the serenity and nibble on honeydew and cheese with quince jam.
As I weaved gracefully through the grand ballroom, I noticed the pleasant aroma of raspberries and blood oranges and in the air. I caught sight of a charming stranger amidst the crowd, his magnetic presence drawing my gaze. I watched as a cigar box was opened for him. His eyes flickered with mischief and he made his selection, skillfully relieving the gentleman of his pocket watch. I smirked, noticing the subtle aromas of cinnamon, spearmint and high mountain oolong tea lingering in the room - a tantalizing backdrop to the daring feat I had just beheld. The pickpocket vanished into the crowd, his identity known only to those who dared to pay attention.
The 2020 Late Harvest of Grenache Blanc is a luscious indulgence. This dessert wine draws you in with cognac-esque aromas of honeysuckle, brown sugar and bartlett pears. On the palate you’ll encounter notes of plumcot and spiced apple cider which transition gracefully into a lush opulent finish that lasts.
The 2021 Reserve Syrah is a compelling blend of power and elegance, unfurling with rich notes of blackberry and blueberry, underscored by a deep current of elderberry. Subtle hints of wintergreen and eucalyptus provide a refreshing loft weaving through the darker tones of black olive and cured meat. The backdrop is seasoned generously with herbs de Provance and a robust sprinkle of cracked pepper, crafting a profile that is both aromatic and profound. This robust wine boasts firm tannins, promising exceptional aging potential and a lasting impression on the palate.
In the heart of the majestic redwood forest, I found myself surrounded by the intoxicating scent of petrichor and the gentle rustle of leaves. Amidst this natural cathedral, I stumbled upon a quaint wooden cabin, its door slightly ajar, offering a glimpse into its cozy interior. As I stepped inside, the air was filled with the comforting aroma of baking chocolate and herbs du provence, welcoming me like an old friend. In the corner, a basket of ripe cherries beckoned, their deep red hue a stark contrast to the verdant surroundings. As I breathed in the fragrant air, a subtle hint of white pepper lingered on my palate, a reminder of the spices that adorned the table of this rustic retreat.
