Growing Conditions
Ample winter rain was not enough to reach average numbers or bring us out of the 5 year drought. A cold winter was followed by a warm February. Bud break was a bit early and a late frost led to some frost damage in our lower blocks. Summer was consistently warm as was the very end of the growing season. Conditions were almost optimal for a ripe round vintage.
Winemaking
The last one was so good we thought we would do it again. 80% MAHA Estate Clairette and 20% Luna Matta Fiano fermented in a variety of new and used French oak. The resulting wine is a unique character that is fresh yet rich, juicy and full bodied. Caramelized white fruits are complicated with coriander and cinnamon leading to a fresh long finish. While this wine will be a great addition to any table now, it will also age gracefully in your cellar for years to come.
