Growing Conditions
2016 was another in a string of excellent vintages for Napa and Sonoma winemaking. Generous winter rains brought much-needed rainfall to saturate the root zones and replenish reservoirs. Moderate temperatures and bright sunshine enabled the vines to thrive throughout the spring and summer, creating a balanced, optimal growing pace. Warm days and cool nights during harvest season allowed ripening to progress at an even pace, resulting in wines that display complex fruit flavors and balanced acidity.
Winemaking
Made from grapes of premier vineyards in Russian River Valley, the 2016 Amici Cellars Reserve Pinot Noir showcases the classic Russian River characteristics of heady aromas, vibrant cherry fruit flavors and delicate tannins. A true beauty of a wine, it is delicious on release but will age well for 5-7 years.
This exemplifies the classic Russian River Valley Pinot Noir with rich aromas of bright cherry, blackberries, pomegranate and rhubarb complimented with subtle notes of mushrooms and
brown spice. It has a soft, silky mouthfeel that is juicy. Savory notes continue with clove and allspice as the wine finishes with hints of moist forest floor.
