Growing Conditions
2015 was a stellar vintage for Sonoma winemaking. A cool spring meant smaller grape clusters and resulted in lower yields than usual, while the quality of fruit was exceptional. Warm summer weather brought grapes to optimum ripeness before one of the earliest harvests in memory. The resulting wines show intense aromatics and complex fruit character.
Winemaking
Made from grapes off of premier vineyards in Russian River Valley, the 2015 Amici Cellars Reserve Pinot Noir showcases the classic Russian River Valley characteristics of heady aromas, vibrant cherry and pomegranate fruit flavors and delicate tannins. A true beauty of a wine, it is delicious on release but will age well for 5-7 years.
This exemplifies the classic Russian River Valley Pinot Noir with aromas of black cherry, blackberries, pomegranate and rhubarb, cloaked in velvet. It has a soft, silky mouthfeel that pulls you in with savory brown spices of clove and allspice, cooked raspberries and finishes with hints of moist forest floor.
