Nose
Named for the iconic image of the wind turbine on our label, our Turbine White is a delicious blend of white
Rhone-style varietals. Pretty aromas of lilies and honeysuckle are intertwined with kumquat and tropical
fruits
Palate
The palate is rich yet balanced with bright acidity—honeycomb, butterscotch, and subtle nutty undertones
marry with orange oil, spiced pear and zesty lime. This wine is complex but easy to drink.
Growing Conditions
The fruit for our Turbine White was sourced from two family-owned vineyards. Viognier, Marsanne and
Roussanne are grown at Landa Vineyard located in the shadows of the eastern foothills in the Sonoma
Valley Appellation. The Viognier adds floral aromatics while the Marsanne is a beautiful blending wine
adding nice mid-palate richness to the wine along with acidity. Roussanne contributes aromatics and
elegance. Grenache Blanc is grown nearby at the Snow Vineyard. It lends long length and balanced alcohol
to the blend, along with rich notes of citrus and herbs.
Aging
Each varietal is hand-harvested at peak
ripeness, whole cluster pressed and fermented separately
in stainless or neutral oak to best capture varietal characteristics.
Marsanne and Viognier were aged in oak;
Grenache Blanc and Roussanne aged in stainless until the
final blend. Bottled in April 2015.
