Anarchy Wine Co.Farewell to KingsAt one point in time, the wine world was ruled by Chardonnay and the evil empire that was Cabernet Sauvignon. There was so much bad Chardonnay and Cabernet, with very few alternatives. During those days I was a wine knight in punk rock armor. I believed in the underdog and railing against the establishment, making and promoting alternative reds.
Cabernet was a corrupt king, and I was part of the alternative red rebellion. But now, most of us have broadened our minds and palates. The war is over. As an olive branch, I have embraced Cabernet and its kind. I have made it in my own way (with the little bit of Punk Rock and a few broken rules), but I’m a better winemaker for the time I’ve spent learning to understand the enemy.
