Growing Conditions
This wine comes of our dry-farmed estate vineyard located at the winery in the beautiful Templeton Gap District of Paso Robles. 2018 was a monumental year for us as our vineyard turned 20 years old! The growing conditions that year happened to be stellar as well. Warm day with a few heat spikes and cool coastal marine layer nights created fruit with layers of character and deep colors.
Harvest
Harvest started on Sept 18th with our Sangiovese block. The pick begins around 6 am, or first light and is done by hand. On Sept 23rd the Cabernet Sauvignon was ready to be hand harvested.

Winemaking
Our winemaking techniques date back to co-owner and founder Kevin Healey. Who believed in native yeast fermentations and very little winemaking intervention. As he put it the wine was made in the vineyard.
Aging
We age in predominantly in neutral French Oak barrels, with 10-15% new French Oak added at the start of the aging process and checked throughout the 30 months it spends in barrel.
