Nose
Aromas of dark fruit, maple bacon, vanilla and floral notes leap from the glass.
Palate
On the palate you’ll find flavors of dark berries, anise, floral notes and a hint of oak. The lush finish lingers with notes of oak and caramel. Although this blend is similar to the 2017, this vintage is even more complex with depths of flavor and richness. It’s yummy!
Bottling
Opening a Waxed Bottle: It’s not much trickier than a regular bottle! No need to cut off the wax. Just rub the top of the wax with the palm of your hand to warm it which will help soften the wax. Use a manual corkscrew and twist it right through the wax and into the cork. Just like a non-waxed bottle, pull up and the cork will lift right out. Remove any loose pieces of wax to prevent them from falling into the bottle and enjoy!
Winemaking
When blending our 2018 vintage, we found a selection of barrels that tasted so exceptional that we knew we wanted to showcase them in this release. Inspired by our Insiders, we created a Bordeaux style blend with a Paso twist by adding Tannat and Carignane to the Malbec, Cab and Merlot.
