Growing Conditions

The 2014 vintage was another ideal growing season that produced very concentrated wines in the Russian River Valley. The Fog Dance Vineyard Chardonnay is sourced from our estate owned, organically farmed vineyard in the Green Valley of the Russian River Valley AVA. This stunningly beautiful vineyard was planted in 1998 with Dijon Chardonnay clone 96 and ENTAV 809 on Goldridge fine sandy loam—a combination of decomposed sandstone and volcanic ash, and a soil that’s highly prized by winemakers in this region.

The 2014 Fog Dance Vineyard Chardonnay is among our small production, single vineyard wines and is named for the dance performed by the Pacific fog that drifts through the vineyards and back again to the sea each day. This wine reflects its cool Green Valley terroir, showing fresh fruit brightness and amazing transparency along with a refined, mineral-driven texture.
