A brief history
Founded in 2010 by friends, Jim Saunders and Steve Hearst, Hearst Ranch Winery is a premium producer of wines from their estate Paso Robles vineyard. The eastern Paso Robles meso-climate of Saunders Vineyard is the perfect environment for growing Syrah, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Merlot and Tempranillo grapes. Winemaker, Soren Christensen, carefully crafts these wines with a focus on quality and sustainability. Saunders Vineyard, established in 1994, is now home to Hearst Ranch Winery’s Paso Robles tasting room and winery. Hearst Ranch Winery's coastal tasting room is in San Simeon Cove, along the famous Highway 1 and across the street from the historic Hearst Castle. The Saunders and Hearst families are stewards of the land, passionate about the quality of wines crafted, and committed to sharing their rich legacy with the next generation.
