A wine of great depth and mystery on both the aromatics and palate. Layered, round, minerally and with just the right amount of tension to carry the fruit through the long and full bodied mid palate and finish.
Growing Conditions
Landy Sweetwater Springs Vineyard in the Russian River Valley has drainage and soil, similar to Rockpile that offers a mineral backbone. These 15+ year old trellised vines at 1000 ft. elevation, with a 55 degree slope produce small intense berries, very dark in color but soft in tannins.
Winemaking
100% Destemmed, Open Top Fermenter.
Aging
16 mos. 100% New French Oak 600L Barrel.
