Nose

Red fruit aromas of cherries and plums join with complex spicy and aromatic notes of hazelnut, mint and cardamom.

Palate

The wine is full- bodied with rich, well-structured tannins, an elegant mouthfeel and a long finish.

Growing Conditions

Located midway up the Eastern flanks of Sonoma Mountain it has a long mild growing season that creates fruit with complexity and balance. The inuence of the vineyard’s red volcanic soil and the fruity characteristics of the grapes combine to produce an outstanding, very distinctive Cabernet Sauvignon.

Harvest

The second year of the historic California drought, the vintage of 2013 provided fruit with particularly intense and extracted character. Harvest began in late-September and progressed for several weeks as the different vineyard blocks slowly ripened.

Winemaking

The grapes were fermented in stainless steel, and then aged in 75% French and 25% American oak barrels for 24 months.
