Nose
Fruity aromas of boysenberry and cassis combine with fragrant notes of vanilla, cloves, coco and fresh thyme.
Palate
Our Syrah has a full-bodied mouthfeel with well-structured tannins that lead to an elegant finish.
Growing Conditions
The red volcanic soil and pleasantly warm climate of this hillside vineyard combine to produce rich, full-bodied wines. Located on the eastern slopes of Sonoma Mountain, this vineyard gets early morning sun and breezes in the afternoons that temper the day's most extreme heat.
Harvest
After a very dry growing season with very good weather we harvested the Jack London Syrah on September 17th.
Bottling
Bottled in September 2015.
Winemaking
After crushing, it was fermented in stainless steel tanks for 22 days before it was pressed off the skins. It was then settled and racked several times before being put into a combination of 80% French oak and 20% American oak barrels in early December of 2013.
Aging
18 months in French and American oak barrels.
