Nose

Fruity aromas of black current and plum join with aromatic notes of vanilla cocoa nibs and mint.

Palate

Rich, full-bodied flavor with excellent balance and well-structured tannins give way to a long finish.

Growing Conditions

The Lone Pine Vineyard is an Estate ranch that we have been growing Cabernet Sauvignon on since 1995. It is located in the southern Sonoma Valley at the southeastern base of Sonoma Mountain. Its distinctive sandy-loam soil produces excellent big-bodied Cabernet Sauvignons with wonderful intensity of fruit.

Winemaking

Harvested on October 2nd, the fruit was picked by hand and brought to the winery for crushing and destemming before fermenting on the skins for two and a half weeks. The young wine was then pressed into stainless steel tanks for two months of settling before being placed in small French oak barrels. After 26 months of aging, the best-tasting barrels were separated from the lot and assembled to be bottled as our Single Vineyard Lone Pine Estate Cabernet Sauvignon.

Aging

26 months in Stainless Steel Tanks; French Oak Barrels.

Food Pairing

This intense Cabernet Sauvignon is an excellent match for dishes with rich flavor and is a particularly good accompaniment with Beef Tenderloin with Blackberry Dressing, Pan-Roasted Veal Chops, or Spaghetti Alla Carbonara.
