Nose

Fruit aromas of cherry and cassis join complex aromatic notes of lavender and cloves.

Palate

This wine is full-bodied with smooth tannins that give way to a lingering, silky finish with a slight touch of cinnamon.

Growing Conditions

Alexander Valley lies in the northeast of Sonoma County where mountains shelter the vines from the Pacific’s cooling influence, making it the ideal climate for growing premium Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.

The growing season of 2012 marked the first year of California's historic drought stressing the vines and producing fruit with exceptional color and flavor. The dry spring and mild summer weather slowly brought our Alexander Valley Cabernet vineyards to the peak of ripeness in early October.

Bottling

Bottled September 2015.

Winemaking

After fermentation on the skins for 21 days, the young wine was briefly settled in stainless steel tanks before being moved to small oak barrels for maturation.

Aging

26 months in French and American oak

Food Pairing

Being both full-bodied and elegant, our 2012 Six Ridges Cabernet Sauvignon is an excellent accompaniment to richly flavored food such as roast lamb, slow cooked barbecue ribs or Italian beef stew.
