Palate
Our Sauvignon Blanc shows intense varietal fruit character of gooseberry, lemongrass and guava with a touch of lime. A crisp refreshing mouthfeel leads to a flinty/mineral finish.
Growing Conditions
The Sonoma Coast spreads from the Pacific Ocean in the northwest to San Pablo Bay in the south. The cool ocean breezes and unique terroir are ideal for producing Sauvignon Blanc of tropical varietal flavor and crisp acidity. Our Sauvignon Blanc showcases aromas of lemongrass and guava, finishing with refreshing acidity.
The 2015 vintage marked the fourth year of drought in Sonoma County. The year began with an early spring followed by a long cool growing season; making for a very light crop of extravagantly flavored fruit. Our Six Ridges Sauvignon Blanc was harvested from our best vineyards located in the Russian River and Carneros regions, both of which lie within the Sonoma Coast appellation.
Bottling
Bottled February 2016.
Winemaking
The individual vineyard lots were harvested at their peak of flavor and fermented separately in stainless steel tanks. The wine was made without malolactic fermentation and matured in neutral French oak casks to preserve the natural acidity.
Food Pairing
Served slightly chilled, this Sauvignon Blanc makes an excellent aperitif and complements a number of dishes. Excellent with lightly-sauced poultry, shellfish and seafood dishes, as well as spicy Asian cuisine.
