Nose
This wine opens with soft and rich aromas of berry bramble, red cherries, currants, cinnamon stick, all-spice, and toasty oak.
Palate
On the palate, notes of cherry compote are followed by cocoa on the mid-palate, cracked black pepper, and clove. The wine finishes with fine, dusty tannins.
Winemaking
Our Old Vine Zinfandels are produced in small lots and blended to capture the unique expression of Zinfandel at this site. We harvest and ferment our 7 blocks of Zinfandel separately to treat each lot individually and create a more complex finished wine. After 18 months of oak aging, we revisit and blend with the focus on crafting a balanced finished product that accurately captures the true expression of this delicious varietal.
