Palate
The wine has lovely, long flavor persistence, and silky is what most people say when they taste it. The bright acidity of the wine makes it refreshing and longing for another glass.
Growing Conditions
A portion of the grapes were grown in the cool temperatures of the Carneros region, which borders San Pablo Bay. The other grapes are from the even cooler regions of Atlas Peak, which sits at an elevation of more than 2,000 feet. All of the chosen grapes were fermented separately, and blended.
Winemaking
A blend of mountain-grown Pinot Noir grapes from the Dijon and Pommard clones combined with Pinot Noir Grapes from the cool Carneros region provide the refined flavors and texture for an extremely elegant wine with concentrated fruit, and structure that makes this wine powerful, yet graceful.
Aging
The wine was aged in beautiful French oak barrels (40% new) for 18 months, which added lovely caramel, toffee, and a sweet-lactic creaminess that you often find in great Burgundy.
