Nose
The wine is perfumed with Bing cherry, Santa
Rosa plum and damp clay.
Palate
The focused palate is firmly structured, opening with perfectly
ripened juicy raspberry and crushed blackberry that yield to luscious dark chocolate and
nutmeg. Notes of star anise and bergamot tantalize the mid‐palate. Velvety, suave tannins
and a touch of clove linger over a lengthy finish.
Growing Conditions
2011 began with a rainy winter and spring across Sonoma and Napa
Counties. Summer was cooler than average but as harvest approached temperatures rose.
Our pinot noir ripened fully and evenly, allowing sugars and acid to develop in balance. The
wines from 2011 are bright, expressive and faceted.
