Nose
An abundant bouquet that highlights aromas of sweet black
raspberry, fresh red currant and ripe strawberry amongst touches of clove, graham
cracker and milk chocolate leaps from the glass.
Palate
Echoing
the nose, the voluminous palate enters with red plum and succulent red raspberry fruits,
closely followed by suggestions of brown sugar, toast and sweet oak and balanced by
bright acidity and silky tannins on the creamy finish.
Growing Conditions
The 2010 vintage was cooler than usual during
the growing season, but ended with a heat wave.
Harvest
The fruit for this wine was
harvested at an optimal level of ripeness early to mid-October.
Winemaking
Fermentation took place
at a high temperature to ensure that maximum extraction was achieved.
Aging
Racked to 50% new French oak barrels. The wine was aged in barrel for a total of 18
months before bottling.
Appearance
A deep garnet-black wine.
