Palate
The wine presents sultry flavors of grapefruit, guava, jasmine, white peach and litchi, with a creamy mid-palate. Tropical fruit notes linger long after the last sip has been savored. A lovely summer wine!
Growing Conditions
Our goal for our viognier has been to move towards a fresh, vibrant style that displays all of the luscious fruit that makes this grape varietal so appealing and unique without the elevated alcohol which can sometimes result from extended hang-time in the vineyard. Accordingly, we made some subtle changes in our vineyard management and harvesting. With a cooler than average season leading up to a relatively early harvest on September 26th and October 1st, we were able to achieve ripe flavors at a lower brix level than in past vintages, while maintaining a lively acidity.
