Nose
This wine opens with invigorating notes of citrus,
kumquat and flint.
Palate
The palate picks up flavors of orange
blossoms, and white stone fruit. Fleshy on entry, the palate
evolves to a round, river rock minerality with a long,
creamy, dolce de leche finish
Growing Conditions
The grapes for the Napa Valley White Meritage come
from our estate vineyards in Jameson Canyon and a select
vineyard in Yountville. The estate vineyards are planted on
rolling hills at the southern end of Napa Valley, where the
growing conditions are very similar to Carneros, the
neighboring appellation just west of the Napa River.
Winds flow through Jameson Canyon, carrying in the
cooling influence of the nearby Pacific Ocean, providing a
long, cool growing season that enhances the intensity of
the Sauvignon Blanc flavors.
The 2015 vintage in Napa Valley was one of the earliest
harvested vintages in years. A warm spring led to early bud
break but colder temperatures in May caused uneven fruit
set and resulted in lower crop yields in some areas. We
worked hand in hand with our vineyard crews to ensure
only the highest quality grapes were used in the final
selection. With generally warm days and cool nights, our
team was able to maintain ideal acid levels with optimum,
bright fruit flavors.
