Nose
Sour cherry, boysenberry, kola nut and fresh herbs on the nose.
Palate
Rhubarb and ripe cherry on the palate are met with
bright acid and extend into a lengthy finish.
Growing Conditions
Goldridge soil series, which is well-drained and highly erodible, with poor nutrients forcing vines to struggle thus delivering dense fruit clusters. Overall climate is cool, foggy and sometimes windy; however, with enough sunshine to produce fruit with intense color and flavors.
2016 was an off season with more rainfall than recent years led us into a warm spring. A cool
summer was followed by a mild finish to the growing season causing the final ripening
to happen at a steady rate and the quality of the grapes to be very high.

Harvest
After night harvesting, the fruit travels before sunrise to Saintsbury.
Winemaking
Each block
remains separate and receives gentle handling starting at the sorting table through to
the 4 ton open top fermenters for 5 day cold soak.
Aging
Aging: 11 months in 20% new French Oak.
