Nose
Aromas that at first are delicate floral, pencil lead, and anise. As the nose develops, aromas of cola and dark chocolate with hints of black pepper are revealed.
Palate
This complex wine has a beautifully balanced palate with rich, silky tannins and never-ending flavors of cigar box, dark chocolate, vanilla, and smoky dark coffee.

Winemaking
The grapes were hand harvested on October 17 at 27.3 Brix, then cluster sorted before a two-day cold soak and a small-batch fermentation using French yeast. The juice was gently pumped over 2-3 times per day during the primary fermentation. In barrel, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation and aged 22 months before being racked twice and bottled August 2010.
