Palate
This is richly flavored with aromas and flavors leaning toward peach and pineapple. It's naturally crisp acidity gives it excellent balance.
Growing Conditions
From Sonoma’s cool Carneros appellation and just under two acres in size, the Gustafsson vineyard produces exceptional chardonnay grapes.
Winemaking
We whole-cluster press these and put the wine directly in French oak barrels to ferment on the natural vineyard yeast. We stirred the lees (dead yeast cells falling to the bottom of the barrel) daily to draw extra flavor from them.
Aging
The wine was aged for six months in barrel before bottling, then bottle aged for nine months prior to release.
