Nose
Our 2013 bottling delivers aromas of rose petal, raspberry, cherry, rhubarb, hints of campfire and subtle forest floor.
Palate
The palate is soft and bright, framed with nice acidity alongside a moderate weight and density. Clean and focused flavors of tart cherry and sweet strawberry, accented by minerality. The depth and structure of this wine are a reflection of great terroir and intensive farming methods.
Growing Conditions
The cool climate and marine-based soils are ideal for this finicky variety.
Winemaking
For more complex aromatics and flavors we performed both open- and closed-top fermentations, depending on the character of the lots, using native and cultured yeast.
Aging
The wine was aged for nine months in French oak barrels.
Appearance
This wine displays a dark garnet color.
