Nose
Our Writer’s Block Cabernet Sauvignon begins with aromas of warm berry pie, and follows up with earthy accents of peat moss.
Palate
Flavors are of dark cherry, blueberry and boysenberry with hints of fresh tobacco and cocoa. This Cabernet Sauvignon is medium bodied and complex but easily drinkable now.
Growing Conditions
The Cabernet Sauvignon for this wine is sourced from three Lake County vineyards: Robin Hill Vineyard and Colina vineyard both located in the Clear Lake AVA, and Amber Knolls Vineyard in the Red Hills AVA. The choice to use these vineyards is easy as they consistently produce outstanding fruit vintage after vintage.
Aging
We have aged this wine for 13 months in 15% new oak and it will evolve nicely with proper cellaring.
Food Pairing
This wine pairs well with many different dishes; try it with braised short ribs, lasagna, or a portabella burger. Of course, a perfectly grilled ribeye will also be an amazing pairing.
