Nose

This classic Viognier springs out of the glass with aromas of merengue, dried apricot, orange marmalade, magnolias, and gardenias.

Palate

The palate is elegantand refreshing with well-integrated acidity and flavors of white peach iced tea and jasmine.

Growing Conditions

Our Viognier is grown on a very steep, south-facing slope. To keep the vine rows in line with the natural terrain, they are oriented perfectly north-south. That angle means that, when the sun is highest in the sky, both sides of the vines get the same amount of sun—thus the wine’s name. Our farming is focused on careful canopy management to retain the natural acidity while developing the full expression of flavor in this site.

Winemaking

These grapes were pressed whole cluster in our bladder press prior to cold settling in tank for two days. Once the heavy solids had settled out, the clean juice was racked to barrels and yeast was added to commence fermentation. Malolactic fermentation was halted to maintain the freshness and natural acidity in the wine.

Aging

The wine was aged sur liefor 16 months prior to bottling, with occasional batonnage to increase mouthfeel and texture.
