Nose
Our 2013 Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is bold with black forest fruit and spiced plum, offering undertones of roasted coffee and crushed rock.
Palate
Caramel and anise come through on the palate accompanied by broad tannins and a rich and persistent finish.
Growing Conditions
Knights Valley is one of the most remote AVAs in Sonoma County, bordering Napa Valley to the east and Alexander Valley to the northwest. Protected from ocean influences, this region experiences a moderated climate, offering a longer and later growing season, which develops more dark fruit aromatics. Very fine textured soils allow for great drainage even at lower elevations, producing small berries that deliver powerful tannins and densely structured wines.
Winemaking
Fermented in stainless steel, 100% ML.
Aging
Aged for 24 months in 80% French oak (20% new) and 20% American oak (4% new).
