Nose

This is a layered and complex wine with a nose of black cherry, dark chocolate, mocha and cigar box.

Palate

The palate is firm and focused, structured by an acid backbone and iron-like minerality.

Growing Conditions

Originally planted in 1880, Monte Rosso Vineyard sits at an elevation of over 1,000 feet on the southwest hills of the Mayacamas Mountains in Sonoma Valley. Known for its bright red, iron-rich volcanic soils, Arrowood sources from dry farmed blocks within this vineyard. This wine is renowned for its classic spice notes, high acidicty and ageability.

Winemaking

Fermented in stainless steel, 100% ML.

Aging

Aged for 32 months in predominately French oak, and some American oak (32% new barrels, 68% seasoned). After 24 months, the wine was pulled out of barrel, blended and placed back into the original barrels for an additional 6 months of aging.
