Nose
Integrated aromas of chocolate, dark fruit and oak, enhance a very well-structured and full-bodied palate complete with mouth-coating round tannins.
Palate
Flavors of raspberry, plum, and dried cherries, conclude in a long, toasty and structured finish.
Growing Conditions
The core of our 2008 Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon came from the Sonoma Valley AVA. To generate more complexity, we harvested fruit from a handful of low-yielding, rocky sites that offered a diversity of exposures. The cooler, east-facing vineyards brought balance and elegance to the wine while the warmer, west-facing parcels delivered riper aromatics and broader tannins.
Winemaking
Fermented in stainless steel, 100% ML.
Aging
Aged for 23 months in predominately French oak, and some American oak, blended, and then returned to barrel for an additional 4 months of aging. 44% new barrels, 56% seasoned.
