Palate

The palate offers notes of crushed peppercorn and cardamom. The wine’s dense structure is supported by acidity and firm tannins that will age effortlessly for many years.

Growing Conditions

Roughly 600 feet above the valley floor in the northern Sonoma Mountains, sits the Smothers-Remick Ridge Vineyard. It features 18 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon divided into 11 distinctive blocks that mirror the terroir. Known for its small, flavorful berries, wines produced from this mountain site are balanced with refined tannins.

Winemaking

Fermented in Stainless Steel, 100% ML.

Aging

Aged for 24 months in French oak barrels (35% new), barrel selected and blended, then returned to original oak barrels for an additional 6 months, for a total of 32 months of aging.
