Palate
Fresh fruit and savory aromas collide to create complex aromatics of red cherry, violet and leather. The palate offers notes of toasted hazelnut and cardamom. The wine’s dense structure is supported by acidity and firm tannins that will age effortlessly for many years.
Growing Conditions
Roughly 600 feet above the valley floor in the northern Sonoma Mountains, sits the Smothers-Remick Ridge Vineyard. It features 18 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon divided into 11 distinctive blocks that mirror the terroir. Known for its small, flavorful berries, wines produced from this mountain are balanced with refined tannins.
Winemaking
Fermented in Stainless Steel, 100% ML.
Aging
Aged for 30 months in French oak barrels (56% new). After 24 months, the wine was pulled out of barrel, blended and placed back into the original barrels for an additional 6 months of aging.
