Nose
Our 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon shines aromatically with rich, blackberries, blueberries and cassis followed by violets and savory notes.
Palate
The palate is nicely structured with juicy cherry, plum skin and toasted walnuts. Hints of roasted hazelnuts and dark chocolate are complimented by integrated oak and a long finish.
Growing Conditions
The core of our 2010 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon came from the Sonoma Valley AVA. To generate more complexity, we harvested fruit from a handful of low-yielding, rocky sites that offered a diversity of exposures. The cooler, east-facing vineyards brought balance and elegance to the wine while the warmer, west-facing parcels deliv-ered riper aromatics and broader tannins. We also included fruit from Knights Valley (3%) and Alexander Valley (1%) to deepen the bouquet and round out the palate.
Aging
Fermented in stainless steel, 100% ML. Aged for 24 months in 85%French oak (20% new) and 15% American oak (5% new).
