Nose
Scents of sage and violet
Palate
Euphoric aromatics of steel, chanterelle, slightly sweet cocoa, blood orange, raspberry fields, crushed dried flower. A "truffle season" wine, clean and visceral rooted with delicate layering of coriander, wild blueberry, bing cherry, pink peppercorn, damp forest underbrush.
2012 Shea Pinot Noir Supple, graceful and appealing, with well-modulated cherry and tobacco flavors, finishing with plum and caramel notes. Finishes harmoniously. Drink now through 2022.
Growing Conditions
Shea is one of the most prestigious vineyards of New World Pinot Noir. The dry-farmed hillside vineyard is situated in an elite terrior, a protected pocket surrounded by little ridges - a rainshadow, a blessing in Oregon during the 2013 vintage. The soils are of diverse marine-sediment, referred to as Willakenzie soils which culminates for exceptional growing conditions for Pinot Noir.
Harvest
Harvested from our single Back Block parcel in Yamhill Carlton, Shea continues to be a hallmark of our portfolio.
