Nose
This wine opens up with wonderful notes of poached pear, fresh flowers, graham cracker, honeydew melon, and green apple.
Palate
The palate continues to entice with warm honey accompanied by notes of white cherry, raspberry, lychee, and a hint of toastiness. There is a deep complexity that is rich and creamy due to extended aging this vintage received in the bottle. Soft, round and thought provoking this wine presents a generous mousse.
Harvest
2018 had the coolest temperatures we had seen since 2011, allowing an extended hang time for the fruit and longer flavor development. Additionally, replenished reservoirs and healthy vineyards from the abundant rains of the 2017 vintage yielded to a larger than normal crop. These elements translated to the perfect combination of a high-yield and high-quality vintage that winemakers dream about.
Food Pairing
We suggest pairing this wine with a lamb burger with caramelized onions, seared seabass, or pork chop with a white wine sauce.
