Seven Oxen Estate WinesZinfandelTen acres of Seven Oxen Vineyard are planted with Zinfandel. Four of these acres were planted in 2003 and make up the vineyard’s oldest producing block. Zinfandel is a thin-skinned grape, prone to suffering in intense summer heat. However, the varietal is successful on Seven Oxen’s hilltop vineyard due to it’s exposure to cooling afternoon breezes from the windy Templeton Gap. Seven Oxen's Zinfandel is made with 100% estate Zinfandel fruit. Lighter in style than most Zinfandel wine made from Paso Robles fruit, this easy-drinking zin has a clean, bright nose with notes of fig, dates, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Licorice, black pepper, black cherry, strawberry, and raisin on the palate with peach preserve on the finish.
